Hadith 5388
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، وَابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، سَمِعَ عُمَرَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، مِنْبَرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " أَمَّا بَعْدُ ، أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، فَإِنَّهُ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ ، وَهِيَ مِنْ خَمْسٍ : مِنَ الْعِنَبِ ، وَالتَّمْرِ ، وَالْعَسَلِ ، وَالْحِنْطَةِ ، وَالشَّعِيرِ ، وَالْخَمْرُ : مَا خَامَرَ الْعَقْلَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: He heard Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this from the pulpit of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "To proceed! O people, when the command of the prohibition of alcohol was revealed, it was made from five things: grapes, dates, honey, wheat, and barley. And in general, khamr (intoxicant) is called every such thing that covers the intellect."
