Hadith 5363
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was serving nabidh made from dried and fresh dates to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Suhail bin Bayda (may Allah be pleased with him). During this, a caller announced: "Beware! Alcohol has been declared unlawful." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: By Allah, they did not wait to verify whether this news was true or false. They said, "O Anas! Pour it out," so I poured it out. By Allah, after that, these people never turned to alcohol again until their deaths. In those days, alcohol was made from dried and fresh dates.
