Section on Beverages - Deserving Allah's Curse for Helping with Alcohol Consumption
Hadith 5356
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَيْوَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ خَيْرٍ الزَّبَادِيُّ ، أَنَّ مَالِكَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ التُّجِيبِيَّ ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَنَ الْخَمْرَ ، وَعَاصِرَهَا ، وَمُعْتَصِرَهَا ، وَحَامِلَهَا ، وَالْمَحْمُولَةَ إِلَيْهِ ، وَشَارِبَهَا ، وَبَائِعَهَا ، وَمُبْتَاعَهَا ، وَسَاقِيَهَا ، وَمُسْقَاهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), indeed Allah Almighty has cursed alcohol, the one who squeezes it, the one who has it squeezed, the one who carries it, the one for whom it is carried, the one who drinks it, the one who sells it, the one who buys it, the one who serves it, and the one to whom it is served.
