Section on Beverages - Clarification That the Habitual Drinker May Meet Allah with the Sin of Idol Worship
1 hadith
Hadith 5347
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever regularly drinks alcohol and presents himself before Allah, he presents himself before Allah as an idol worshipper."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) There is a possibility that the meaning of this narration is that whoever regularly drinks alcohol and considers its consumption to be lawful, and then presents himself before Allah, he presents himself before Allah in the same state as an idol worshipper, because both these conditions are equal in being states of disbelief.
