Reason for the Prohibition of This Act
Hadith 5343
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ اسْتَسْقَى ، فَأَتَاهُ الْخَادِمُ بِقَدَحٍ مُفَضَّضٍ ، فَرَدَّهُ ، وَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " هُوَ لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، وَلَنَا فِي الآخِرَةِ " .
Abu Wa'il narrates: Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water. The servant brought water for him in a vessel that had silver work on it, so he returned it and stated this: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "These are for them (the disbelievers) in this world, and for us in the Hereafter."
