Hospitality – Warning against refusing invitations, even if the event is trivial
Hadith 5292
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى كُرَاعٍ ، لأَجَبْتُ ، وَلَوْ أُهْدِيَ إِلَيَّ ، لَقَبِلْتُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I am invited to a meal of a sheep's foot, I will accept it, and if it is given to me as a gift, I will accept it."
