Hadith 5273
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ السَّيَّارِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الأَهْلِيَّةِ ، وَأَذِنَ فِي لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the meat of donkeys on the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar, but he permitted eating the meat of horses.
