Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "When a person is eating food and a morsel falls from his hand, he should clean off whatever is on it and eat it, and he should not leave that morsel for Satan. And a person should not wipe his hand with a cloth until he has licked his hand, because a person does not know in which part of his food the blessing has been placed for him, and Satan lies in wait for man. (Here the narrator is doubtful about a word) He lies in wait regarding everything, even regarding food. (Here the narrator is doubtful about a word) A person should not lift the bowl until he has licked it or given it to someone else to lick, because blessing is in the last part of the food."
