Warning against taking wealth unlawfully from any Muslim
Hadith 5174
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلانَ ، سَمِعَ عِيَاضَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ : " إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ مَا أَخْرَجَ اللَّهُ مِنْ نَبَتِ الأَرْضِ وَزَهْرَةِ الدُّنْيَا " ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَهَلْ يَأْتِي الْخَيْرُ بِالشَّرِّ ؟ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ يُنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَكَانَ إِذَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ غَشِيَهُ بُهْرٌ وَعَرَقٌ ، فَلَمَّا سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ ؟ " فَقَالَ : هَا أَنَا ذَا ، يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَلَمْ أُرِدْ إِلا خَيْرًا ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْخَيْرَ لا يَأْتِي إِلا بِالْخَيْرِ ، وَلَكِنْ كُلُّ مَا يُنْبِتُ الرَّبِيعُ يَقْتُلُ حَبَطًا أَوْ يُلِمُّ إِلا آكِلَةَ الْخَضِرِ ، فَإِنَّهَا تَأْكُلُ حَتَّى إِذَا امْتَدَّتْ خَاصِرَتَاهَا ، اسْتَقْبَلَتِ الشَّمْسَ ، فَثَلَطَتْ وَبَالَتْ ، ثُمَّ عَاذَتْ ، فَأَكَلَتْ ، ثُمَّ قَامَتْ فَاجْتَرَّتْ ، فَمَنْ أَخَذَ مَالا بِحَقِّهِ بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهِ وَنَفَعَهُ ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَ مَالا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ لَمْ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ ، وَكَانَ كالَّذي يَأْكُلُ وَلا يَشْبَعُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying this from the pulpit: "What I fear most for you is that Allah the Exalted will make the vegetation of the earth and the adornment and beauty of the world manifest for you." A man stood up in your presence and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Will good bring evil? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent until we realized that revelation was being sent down upon him. When revelation would come to him, he would become drowsy and sweat would appear on him. When this state ended, he asked: Where is the questioner? He replied: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I am here. I only intended good by it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Good only brings good, but what the spring grows kills many animals and causes suffering to many animals. The case of the animal that eats greenery is different, for it eats until its belly is full, then it goes into the sun, where it defecates and urinates, then returns, eats again, stands up, and moves on. Whoever acquires wealth along with the right (truth), there is blessing in it for him and that wealth benefits him. Whoever acquires wealth unjustly, there is no blessing in it for him, and his example is like that person who, despite eating, does not become satisfied.
