ذكر البيان بأن قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم من أخذ شبرا إنما هو الإشارة إلى نفس هذا الفعل لا الإشارة إلى الشبر فقط-
Clarification that “whoever takes a span” refers to the act itself, not just the measure
Hadith 5162
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَخَذَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ شِبْرًا بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever seizes a span of land unjustly will have a collar of seven earths placed around his neck."
