Hadith 5149
Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Will you stay at your house in Makkah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Has Aqeel left any residence for us?" (The narrator states) Aqeel and Talib became the heirs of Abu Talib. Sayyiduna Ja'far Tayyar (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) did not become his heirs, because both of them were Muslims, whereas Aqeel and Talib had died in a state of disbelief. For this reason, Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "No believer becomes the heir of a disbeliever."
