Hadith 5097
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا القَعْنَبيُّ قَالَ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، أَنَّ بَشِيرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي نَحَلْتُ ابْنِي هَذَا هَذَا الْعَبْدَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ هَذَا ؟ " قَالَ : لا ، قَالَ : " فَارْدُدْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Bashir bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I have given this son of mine this slave as a gift. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Have you given all your children a gift like this? He replied: No. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then take it back.
