Ibn Hibban

Ibn Abu Mulaykah narrates: Two women were alone in a house; there was no one else in the house besides them. One of them went outside the house, and a spear had been thrust into her stomach, which had come out from her back. This woman stated: The other woman had struck her with the spear, while the other woman denied it. I sent this case to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). The woman informed him about this matter, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: You must present evidence, because the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has said this: If people were given (things) based on their claims, some people would begin to claim the wealth and lives of others. The person against whom the claim is made is required to take an oath. Call that woman, recite the Qur'an before her, and read this verse: "Indeed, those who exchange Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a small price..." Then I did so, and (the woman) confessed to her crime.
