Hadith 5042
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَافَى الْعَابِدُ بِصَيْدَا ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " كَانَ رَجُلٌ تَاجِرٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ ، فَإِذَا رَأَى إِعْسَارَ الْمُعْسِرِ ، قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ : تَجَاوَزْ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلَقِيَ اللَّهَ ، فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There was a merchant among the people before you who used to lend money to people. When he saw someone in difficulty, he would say to his agent, 'Forgive him, so that Allah may forgive us.' The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When he appeared before Allah, Allah forgave him."
