Chapter: Usury - Warning against selling a certain measure of dates for an unspecified amount
Hadith 5026
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بِعَسْكَرِ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ السَّرْحِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الصَّبْرِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ لا يُعْلَمُ مَكِيلَتُهَا بِالْكَيْلِ الْمُسَمَّى مِنَ التَّمْرِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling a heap of dates with an unspecified measure in exchange for dates with a specified measure.
