Chapter: Forbidden sales - Description of ripeness in grains that allows their sale
Hadith 4993
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى تَزْهُوَ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَبِّ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْعِنَبِ حَتَّى يَسْوَدَّ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling dates until their color changes. He forbade selling grain until it becomes hard, and he forbade selling grapes until they become black.
