Hadith 4983
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ بِفَمِ الصِّلْحِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، أَنَّ يَعْلَى بْنَ حَكِيمٍ ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ يُوسُفَ بْنَ مَاهَكَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عِصْمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ حَكِيمَ بْنَ حِزَامٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي رَجُلٌ أَشْتَرِي الْمَتَاعَ ، فَمَا الَّذِي يَحِلُّ لِي مِنْهَا وَمَا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيَّ ؟ فَقَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، " إِذَا ابْتَعْتَ بَيْعًا فَلا تَبِعْهُ حَتَّى تَقْبِضَهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : هَذَا الْخَبَرُ مَشْهُورٌ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكٍ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ لَيْسَ فِيهِ ذِكْرُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِصْمَةَ ، وَهَذَا خَبَرٌ غَرِيبٌ .
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I am a person who buys goods, so what part of it is lawful for me and what part is unlawful for me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O my nephew! When you buy something, do not sell it further until you have taken possession of it." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This narration is famous as being transmitted from Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) through Yusuf bin Malik. In this, there is no mention of the narrator named Abdullah bin Ismah, and this narration is "gharib" (rare/isolated).
