Chapter: Forbidden sales - Description of the possession that makes selling purchased food permissible
Hadith 4982
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَشْتَرِي الطَّعَامَ مِنَ الرُّكْبَانِ جُزَافًا ، فَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَبِيعَهُ حَتَّى نَنْقُلَهُ مِنْ مَكَانِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We used to buy heaps (of goods) from the (trading) caravans based on estimation, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from selling it further until we had moved it from its place.
