Chapter: Forbidden sales - Warning against a city dweller selling for a Bedouin migrant
Hadith 4961
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ التَّلَقِّي ، وَأَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ الْمُهَاجِرُ لِلأَعْرَابِيِّ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this about the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): He forbade meeting traders (to buy goods) outside the market, and he forbade that any city dweller should sell goods on behalf of a villager.
