Hadith 4952
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ بِالرَّقَّةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَزَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعَ عَمْرٌو أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُزَنِيِّ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ " ، لا يَدْرِي عَمْرٌو أَيَّ مَاءٍ هُوَ .
Sayyiduna Iyas bin Abdullah Muzani, may Allah be pleased with him, who is among the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) forbade the selling of water. The narrator named Amr did not know which type of water was meant by this.
