Hadith 4943
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا أُنْزِلَتِ الآيَاتُ مِنْ آخِرِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا ، خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah regarding usury were revealed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went forth and declared the trade of alcohol to be forbidden.
