Chapter on Envoys – On the prohibition of killing the envoys of disbelievers when they come to Muslim lands.
Hadith 4878
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَوْلا أَنَّكَ رَسُولٌ لَقَتَلْتُكَ " يَعْنِي رَسُولَ مُسَيْلِمَةَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you were not an envoy, I would have killed you." (The narrator says) This was said to the envoy of Musaylimah.
