Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On the permissibility for the leader to give a specified amount to a detachment from the fifth.
Hadith 4833
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً فِيهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ ، فَغَنِمُوا إِبِلا كَثِيرًا ، فَكَانَتْ سُهْمَانُهُمُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا ، وَنُفِّلُوا بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) dispatched an expedition towards Najd, in which Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) also participated. They obtained many camels as spoils of war, so each person’s share amounted to twelve camels, and (each of them) was also given an additional camel.
