Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On the recommendation for the leader to give extra shares from the fifth to the leaders of detachments.
Hadith 4832
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بُرْدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا وَكُنْتُ فِيهِمْ فَغَنِمْنَا ، فَأَصَابَنِي مِنَ الْقَسَمِ ثِنْتَا عَشْرَةَ نَاقَةً ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفَّلَنَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ نَاقَةً ، نَاقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) dispatched an expedition. I also participated in it. We obtained spoils of war, and during the distribution, twelve she-camels came to my share. Then, after that, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gave each of us one more she-camel.
