Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On what God permitted the Prophet to take from the spoils of the polytheists.
Hadith 4826
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّمَا قَرْيَةٍ عَصَتِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، فَإِنَّ خُمُسَهَا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ ، ثُمَّ هِيَ لَكُمْ " .
Hammam bin Munabbih narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated these ahadith to us, then he mentioned some narrations, among which is this narration: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any town that disobeys Allah and His Messenger, its (spoils of war) khums will go to Allah and His Messenger, and then it will come to you."
