Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On the report refuting the claim that a horse receives only the same share as its owner.
Hadith 4812
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ أَخْضَرَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ لِلْفَرَسِ سَهْمَيْنِ ، وَلِلرَّجُلِ سَهْمًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) allotted two shares for the horse and one share for the man.
