Chapter on Spoils of War and Their Distribution – On what Muslims must do when the world is opened to them.
Hadith 4804
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ بِالرِّيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِصَامِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ جَبَّرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ آدَمَ فِيهَا أَرْبَعُونَ رَجُلا ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ مَفْتُوحُونَ ، وَمَنْصُورُونَ ، وَمُصِيبُونَ ، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانَ مِنْكُمْ ، فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ ، وَلْيَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ، وَلْيَنْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ، وَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time he was sitting in a tent made of leather, in which there were forty people present. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Victories will be granted to you, you will be helped, and you will be granted (wealth and riches). Whoever among you reaches that time, let him fear Allah, continue to enjoin good, and forbid evil. And whoever attributes a lie to me, let him be prepared for his specific place in Hell."
