Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On denying entry to Hell for those who witnessed Badr and Hudaybiyyah.
Hadith 4799
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدًا لِحَاطِبٍ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَشْكُو حَاطِبًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهُ لَيَدْخُلُ حَاطِبٌ النَّارَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَذَبْتَ ، إِنَّهُ لا يَدْخُلُهَا ، إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا ، وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The slave of Sayyiduna Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained about Sayyiduna Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Indeed, Sayyiduna Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) will go to Hell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have spoken wrongly; he will not go to it. He participated in the Battle of Badr and the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.
