Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the permissibility for children to welcome returning fighters from their campaigns.
Hadith 4792
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : " أَذْكُرُ أَنِّي خَرَجْتُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ نَتَلَقَّى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقْدَمَهُ مِنْ تَبُوكَ إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ " .
Sayyiduna Sa’ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I remember that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the Battle of Tabuk, we went with the children to Thaniyyat al-Wada‘ to welcome the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
