Hadith 4787
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلاثَةَ أَحَادِيثَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَوْلادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، أَنْ نَقْتُلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ مِنْهُمْ ، ثُمَّ نَهَى عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا حِمَى إِلا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ " . قَالَ : فَصِدْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ بِالأَبْوَاءِ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ، فَرَدَّ ذَلِكَ ، فَعَرَفَ ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِي ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates regarding Sayyiduna Sa'b bin Jathamah (may Allah be pleased with him): He used to narrate three hadiths from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He narrates: I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the children of the polytheists: Should we kill them along with their elders? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, because they are part of them. Then, on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade this. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The pasture is reserved only for Allah and His Messenger. (The third narration is) I hunted a zebra for the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place of Abwa, but the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of Ihram at that time, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not accept it. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw signs (of distress) on my face, he said: We have only returned this to you because we are in the state of Ihram.
