Hadith 4784
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Ahzab, Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow which cut the vein of his arm. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had fire lit for him and had the wound cauterized, but his arm swelled up. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left it, the blood started flowing again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had it cauterized again, and again his hand swelled up. When he saw this situation, he said: “O Allah, do not take my soul until You cool my eyes regarding Banu Qurayzah.” So the blood from his vein stopped, and not a single drop came out after that, until when Banu Qurayzah accepted Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) as arbitrator, he summoned them and ordered that their men be killed and their women and children be kept alive, and the Muslims also obtained spoils of war. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You have judged concerning them according to Allah’s command.” Their number was four hundred. When the people finished killing them, blood began to flow from the vein of Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) and he passed away.
