Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the recommendation for the leader to stay three days at the battlefield after victory.
Hadith 4776
أَخْبَرَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ أَرَّكِينَ بِدِمَشْقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا غَلَبَ قَوْمًا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُقِيمَ بِعَرْصَتِهِمْ ثَلاثًا " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would prevail over a people, he (peace be upon him) liked to stay in their area for three days.
