Hadith 4770
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ لِلْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ : أَفَرَرْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ؟ قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ : لَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَفِرَّ إِنَّ هَوَازِنَ كَانُوا قَوْمًا رُمَاةً ، فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ بَيْضَاءَ ، وَإِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ آخِذٌ بِلِجَامِهَا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَا النَّبِيُّ لا كَذِبْ أَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ .
Abu Ishaq narrates: A man from the Qais tribe said to Sayyiduna Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you people flee and leave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time of the Battle of Hunayn? Sayyiduna Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not flee. The people of the Hawazin tribe were good archers. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) riding a white mule. Sayyiduna Abu Sufyan bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) was holding the reins of that mule. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: I am a Prophet, there is no lie in this, I am the son of Abdul Muttalib.
