Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the recommendation for a person to begin warfare and important matters in the early morning.
Hadith 4755
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ ، عَنْ صَخْرٍ الْغَامِدِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا " ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً بَعَثَ بِهَا مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ ، وَكَانَ صَخْرٌ رَجُلا تَاجِرًا ، فَكَانَ يَبْعَثُ غِلْمَانَهُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ ، فَكَثُرَ مَالُهُ ، وَأَثْرَى .
Sayyiduna Sakhr Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early morning work." (The narrator states) Sayyiduna Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him) was a merchant; he used to send his sons in the early part of the day, so his wealth increased.
