Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the recommendation for the leader to send out detachments in the early morning.
Hadith 4754
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ ، عَنْ صَخْرٍ الْغَامِدِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا " ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً ، أَوْ جَيْشًا بَعَثَهُمْ فِي أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ ، وَكَانَ صَخْرٌ رَجُلا تَاجِرًا ، وَكَانَ يَبْعَثُ تِجَارَتَهُ فِي أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ فَأَثْرَى وَأَصَابَ مَالا .
Sayyiduna Sakhr Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Grant blessing to my Ummah in their early morning work." The narrator states: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) dispatched an expedition or an army, he would send them at the beginning of the day. (The narrator states) Sayyiduna Sakhr Ghamidi (may Allah be pleased with him) was a trader; he used to send off his trade goods at the beginning of the day. He became prosperous and acquired a great deal of wealth.
