Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the prohibition of seeking help from polytheists in fighting the enemies of God.
Hadith 4726
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لَحِقَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُقَاتِلَ مَعَهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّا لا نَسْتَعِينُ بِمُشْرِكٍ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A person belonging to the polytheists came to meet the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) so that he could participate in the battle with him, but the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Go back. We do not take help from any polytheist."
