Chapter on Setting Out and the Manner of Jihad – On the permissibility for women to go on campaigns with men and serve them during expeditions.
Hadith 4724
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْزُو بِنَا مَعَهُ نِسْوَةٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ نَسْقِي الْمَاءَ ، وَنُدَاوِي الْجَرْحَى " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his mother, Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) took us along with him, and we Ansari women used to give water and treat the wounded.
