Chapter on Horses - On Allah granting the one whose horse produces offspring a reward equal to seventy horses used in Allah's cause
Hadith 4679
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْكَلاعِيُّ بِحِمْصَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْمَذْحِجِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْهَوْزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ الأَنْمَارِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ : أَطْرِقْنِي فَرَسَكَ ، فَإِِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ أَطْرَقَ فَرَسًا فَعَقَبَ لَهُ الْفَرَسُ ، كَانَ لَهُ كَأَجْرِ سَبْعِينَ فَرَسًا حُمِلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَإِِنْ لَمْ تُعْقِبْ كَانَ لَهُ كَأَجْرِ فَرَسٍ حُمِلَ عَلَيْهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
Abu Amir Huzni narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Kabsha Anmari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and said: Give me your horse for mating, because I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: Whoever gives his horse for mating and as a result a horse is born, then that person receives the reward of seventy such horses that are equipped (with saddle, etc.) and given in the way of Allah. And if as a result no horse is born, then he receives the reward of giving one horse loaded with goods in the way of Allah.
