Chapter on Horses - On clarifying that the blessing associated with horses is reward in the Hereafter and spoils in this world
Hadith 4669
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ الأَجْرُ وَالْغَنِيمَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Goodness has been placed in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection, in the form of reward and spoils.”
