Chapter on the Virtue of Martyrdom - On how the killer and the killed (disbeliever and Muslim) both enter Paradise if the disbeliever is guided
Hadith 4667
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِِدْرِيسَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَضْحَكُ إِِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتُلُ أَحَدُهُمَا صَاحِبَهُ وَكِلاهُمَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ ، يُقَاتِلُ هَذَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُقْتَلُ ، ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْقَاتِلِ فَيُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُسْتَشْهَدُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah smiles at two men, one of whom has killed the other, yet both will enter Paradise. One person participates in jihad in the way of Allah and is martyred, then Allah grants the killer the ability to repent (he becomes a Muslim), and then he too participates in jihad in the way of Allah and is martyred."
