Chapter on the Virtue of Martyrdom - On the ranks of martyrs in Paradise for their steadfastness
Hadith 4659
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِِذَا صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ رُؤْيَا ؟ " فَسَأَلْنَا يَوْمًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أُرِيتُ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلَيْنِ أَتَيَانِي ، فَأَخَذَا بِيَدِي ، فَصَعِدَا بِي فِي الشَّجَرَةِ ، فَأَدْخَلانِي دَارًا لَمْ أَرَ قَطُّ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا ، فَقَالَ : أَمَا هَذِهِ الدَّارُ فَدَارُ الشُّهَدَاءِ " .
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform the morning prayer, he would turn towards us and ask, "Did any of you see (any remarkable) dream last night?" One day he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked us, then he said: "Last night I was shown a dream. Two men came to me, they took hold of my hand and led me up a tree. They made me enter a house; I have never seen a house more beautiful than it. They told me: This is the abode of the martyrs."
