Chapter on the Virtue of Jihad - On Allah's shade on the Day of Judgment for one who shaded a fighter's head
Hadith 4628
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَظَلَّ رَأْسَ غَازٍ ، أَظَلَّهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَمَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لِجِهَادِهِ فَلَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ ، وَمَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever provides shade over the head of a Mujahid, Allah Almighty will grant him shade on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever provides equipment for a person fighting in the way of Allah for his jihad, he will also receive a reward similar to that person. Whoever builds a mosque in which Allah is remembered, Allah Almighty will build a house for that person in Paradise."
