Hadith 4612
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Sa'id! Whoever is pleased with Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) as his Prophet (that is, he has faith in them), then Paradise becomes obligatory for him. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) liked this very much and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Please repeat this statement to me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did so, then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is another thing as well, through which a servant's rank is raised by one hundred degrees, and the distance between each two degrees is as much as between the heavens and the earth. So Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: What is that other thing? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Striving in the path of Allah (Jihad).
