Abu Salih, who was the servant of Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) said this in Mina at Masjid Khaif: O people! I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: I had concealed it from you due to miserliness, but now I feel it appropriate to disclose it for the sake of Allah Almighty and your well-being. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: "Spending one day in the path of Allah is better than spending a thousand days elsewhere, so now each of you should take account of himself." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Ma'n is Muhammad bin Ma'n Ghafari; he belonged to the people of Madinah, while the narrator named Abu Aqil is Zahrah bin Ma'bad, and he belonged to the people of Ramla. The name of Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani's (may Allah be pleased with him) servant Abu Salih is Harith.
