Hadith 4589
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best among you and your best rulers are those whom you love and they love you, they pray for mercy for you and you pray for mercy for them. And your worst people and your worst rulers are those whom you dislike and they dislike you, you curse them and they curse you." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Should we not separate from them?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No, not as long as they establish the five prayers. Beware, whoever has a guardian over him and he sees that guardian committing disobedience to Allah Almighty, then he should dislike that act of disobedience, but he should not withdraw his obedience (from the ruler)."
