Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna ‘Amir bin Shahr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I have heard two statements, and I do not like that I should get the world and all that is in it in exchange for either of these two statements. One of them I heard from Najashi, and the other I heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the statement which I heard from Najashi, it is as follows: I was sitting with Najashi when his son came to him from school. The boy presented his tablet before him. Sayyiduna ‘Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I used to understand some of their speech. When he passed by a verse, I laughed. Najashi asked: What made you laugh? By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this statement has been revealed from the Lord of the Throne. Sayyiduna ‘Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) said this: There is a curse upon the land where children rule. (Sayyiduna ‘Amir, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates) I heard this statement from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): I heard him say: “Obey the Quraysh and leave their personal actions (to their own state).”
