Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Talhah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing in front of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and shooting arrows. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head from behind him to see where his arrow was landing, so Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) spread his chest in order to protect the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with it. He said: O Messenger of Allah! Remain as you are (i.e., stay behind me). May Allah sacrifice me for you; instead of you, I will stand in front of them.
