Hadith 4552
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَالْحَوْضِيُّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا إِِذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُلَقِّنُنَا : " عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْنَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When we would pledge allegiance at the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) would instruct us: (Say this) We pledge to obey and submit according to our ability.
