Chapter on Caliphate and Leadership - On clarifying that Anas bin Malik meant he did the action himself, not by order
Hadith 4533
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ لِيُحَنِّكَهُ ، فَوَافَيْتُهُ بِيَدِهِ الْمِيسَمُ يَسِمُ إِِبِلَ الصَّدَقَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I brought the son of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), Abdullah, to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so that you may give him tahneek (chew a date and rub it on the child's palate). I found the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a marking tool in his hand, and he was marking the camels of zakat with it.
