Chapter on Caliphate and Leadership - On the permissibility for leaders to rest at the homes of married women among their people
Hadith 4528
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَوَّارُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ فَتَبْسُطُ لَهُ نِطْعًا فَيَقِيلُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَتَأْخُذُ مِنْ عَرَقِهِ فَتَجْعَلُهُ فِي طِيبِهَا ، وَتَبْسُطُ لَهُ الْخُمْرَةَ فَيُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit Lady Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her). She would spread a mat for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would rest on it. That lady would collect the sweat of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mix it into her perfume. Then she would spread the mat for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would perform prayer on it.
